Colombo, Feb 15 (LankaNow) – Former Presidents Maithripala Sirisena and Ranil Wickremesinghe have once again engaged in political discussions alongside opposition party leaders to assess the country’s current political landscape and future direction.
The meeting included UNP Chairman Wajira Abeywardena, Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) leader Udaya Gammanpila, and former Ministers Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, Susil Premajayantha, Shehan Semasinghe, Nimal Lanza, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Premnath C. Dolawatte, and Sagala Ratnayake.
Yapa stated to Media, that this was the second such meeting, with discussions centering on the alleged injustices faced by former MPs under the current government. He clarified that no plans for a political alliance were discussed.
This follows a previous meeting on January 30. Sirisena and Wickremesinghe previously led the Yahapalana government as President and Prime Minister, respectively, before their political fallout.
