Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has denied any involvement in a 12-room building illegally constructed on reservation land near Menik Ganga, Kataragama. The structure’s electricity bills are registered under the name “G. Rajapaksa.”
During questioning by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on January 17, Rajapaksa stated he had no knowledge of the building or its electricity bills. The CID’s investigation focuses on the unlawful construction on government land. Rajapaksa maintained his stance, asserting he had no connection to the building.
